Project 1 Title: Research Rescue EDTC 6320: Instructional Technology, Dr. Butler |
|
Project Description:
The primary purpose of this project was to learn to work with peers in a non-colocated environment to develop instruction in the form of a learning object (LO). We used a simple version of the ADDIE model to develop a brief instructional tool that will address a problem that needs to be solved with instruction. The instruction that we developed was posted on a wiki and made available for the public to use.

Project 2 Scheduling Made Simple Instructional Unit EDTC6321: Instructional Design, Dr. Corbeil |
|
Project Description: The primary purpose of this project was to follow the Dick & Carey instructional design model to create an instructional unit. The criteria for the instructional unit was that a learner must be able to complete it indepednetly without interaction with a teacher and within 30 minutes to one hour time frame. The instructional unit I designed was to meet a need at my current work place by training staff to schedule videoconferences correctly.
There are 5 phases involved in the Instructional Unit including descriptions of:
- the learners, their environment and the instructional goal
- the task analysis and instructional objectives
- the performance objectives
- the instructional strategies
- the formative evaluation
Feedback was received from classmates and members of the intended audience and revisions were made based on the suggestions.

Project 3 Scheduling Made Simple Multimedia Training EDTC6323: Multimedia Design, Dr. Pan |
|
Project Description:
The purpose of this project was to create a learning object using multiple forms of multimedia within a specific educational context. In addition to the creation of the object, a design document (using the Dick & Carey model) and a summative evaluation report was included. The multimedia instruction I developed was based on the instructional unit located in Project 2 of this portfolio.

| Project 5 Publishing Multimedia Online |
|
Project Description:
Utilizing multimedia is proven to be an effective way to deliver instruction and facilitate student centered performance based activities. This project provides an overview of a variety of ways to use the Web 2.0 tool, Slideshare, to publish multimedia online and collaborate with others. Slideshare is an online file sharing tool that not only allows users to publish their work online but also has features similar to popular social networking sites like Twitter and You Tube. The value of using multimedia in education is also presented throughout this project.
